ArtsFund was created by the Arts Council of Richmond in collaboration with the area’s business and arts communities. ArtsFund unites arts organizations, artists and businesses and individuals in a shared goal: to make sure that interesting, diverse and high-quality cultural opportunities are available to everyone in the area.

ArtsFund supporters understand that the arts make Metro Richmond “a real city.” The activities, services and events of Richmond’s arts and cultural organizations provide important learning opportunities to our schools and children, attract visitors and businesses to our community, serve residents of the entire Metro Richmond region, from the city itself to the far edges of the surrounding suburbs, bring more than $50 million into the local economy every year, generating $75 million in revenue and providing more than 2,500 jobs.

When you give to ArtsFund, your dollars reach dozens of leading and emerging arts organizations across Metro Richmond, which have been selected carefully using established evaluation criteria. ArtsFund provides annual operating support to our permanent affiliates, and annual project grants to help small and emerging groups take their place in the community.
